Negative impact of sport on children

The first thought which comes to our mind, when we are talking about negative impact of sport, is about injuries, because doing any kind of sport can lead to it, especially, if to talk about developing bodies – children and youth, because bones and muscles are growing, and during the growth they are weaker then usually. “With increased youth participation in sports, an increase in sports-related injuries has been observed, with 2.6 million emergency room visits each year for those aged 5–24 years” (Donna, Youth sport: positive and negative impact on young athletes , 2013).

Problems are not finishing when body becomes well-built in terms of growth, because athlete can start feeling decrease in reaction, body balance and coordination. Consequently, results in sport can decrease too, and athlete can experience more pressure from the coach and fans side (Donna, Youth sport: positive and negative impact on young athletes , 2013).
